How do we book registrars for our ceremony?
You would simply call Durham Registry Office on 03000 266 000. You would give your chosen date and preferred time for your ceremony and secure the booking with a £50 deposit.
What time can I get married?
This all depends on what type of ceremony you choose. If you are going with a celebrant or a registrar the times could differ. You can select your time with a celebrant however Durham Registry Office offer the following times:
11am, 12:30pm, 2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm
Do our guests receive a discount on accommodation?
Yes, all guests who are booking accommodation for your wedding will receive 15% discount on accommodation for the night before and night of the wedding.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Yes, all of our venues are accessible to wheelchair users. We have a lift within the castle for guests to use throughout the day.
Do you allow dogs?
Your dog(s) are able to join you for your ceremony only.
How much is the deposit?
Deposit is £1000.00 this is to be paid once you have provisionally held your date and paid the deposit to secure your ceremony. We would then take your deposit payment and issue your contract.
Can I have an outdoor ceremony?
Yes, we are license to host outdoor ceremonies. An outdoor ceremony is weather dependent. Our Summer Tipi is now available on selected dates. Please ask your wedding coordinator for more information.
